Powerful Images

I'm at a loss for words right now as far as how to summarize Joshua's time in Uganda. I think it's safe to say, however, that it was a life changing trip for him (and me too for that matter, even though I wasn't there- I truly feel changed and blessed by his experience!) At this point I think he's just processing through all the heart breaking images he saw, the sweet conversations that occurred, and the emotional burden on his heart to do more. I'm totally engrossed in all his stories and find myself unknowingly smiling as I hear him talk, excited for what God is doing in our life and so very proud to be his wife. He shares how he experienced God in unique and amazing ways with eyes full of tears. He'll be the first to say that he's a changed man from this trip.

I've been going through Joshua's pictures and starring at every little detail. Soaking in the images that captivate such a stark difference of beauty and poverty, joy and hopelessness. I'm not sure what to make of it all yet, and I don't think Joshua knows either. I guess it's all just part of processing it all. Regardless, we're impacted in a profound way.

I thought I would leave you with some of the powerful images that the team experienced first hand, so you too, could ask yourself what God might have you do? ... You can listen to our new favorite song too while you scroll through the photos...

  1. Thanks for sharing these pictures. After our trip to Ghana (first adoption trip)it took a while to process all that we saw, but we knew God had changed us profoundly. I felt that I couldn't adequately express my emotions about it all for a while. I am glad I found your blog, I look forward to reading about your journey in the future.

  2. Thank you so much for sharing these.. just beautiful, and of course, heart breaking. I am going through the same "processing" now after my return from Ethiopia.. it's a lot more difficult than I thought it would be to "come back".
